Defining a Word Through Fine Art

I'm using this blog post to bring attention to the fine art world on Etsy by choosing one word and posting how different artists present it through their work.

Comfort is something different to each of us, but one thing is for sure ... we all need it. It must be one of those basic necessities in life. If we don't have comfort, what do we have? I'm talking about what's on the inside of us, not on the outside. I'm not talking about being too fat or too thin (ha, we all have issues with that, right?). What makes you happy? At the end of a long day at work, we all just want to go home ... usually. I like my home, it's me, it is what it is because of me. It brings me joy and comfort. I like my van, I am comfortable driving it and I feel save in it. I hug my cat all the time, he brings me comfort. I'd hug my 15 year old, but that's not in the program for her these days...I can wait.

Wikipedia says:
Comfort is a sense of physical or psychological ease, often characterized as a lack of hardship. A degree of psychological comfort can be achieved by recreating experiences that are associated with pleasant memories, such as engaging in familiar activities, maintaining the presence of familiar objects, and consumption of comfort foods.

The consumption of comfort foods, huh? I don't want to even go there (I get too much comfort from that).
