Defining a Word Through Fine Art

I'm using this blog post to bring attention to the fine art world on etsy by choosing one word and posting how different artists present it through their work.
On a personal note, I've been dealing with a terminal diagnosis for my little love of a cat, T.J. He's still hanging in there today, I'm taking each day as it comes. I know we all have or have had a little "daily companion" that means the world to us. If they could only talk and let us know when they don't feel good. I've had my little buddy for 11 years now and don't want to say goodbye. He's my little handsome black cat that used to sit here on my computer table with me and watch the curser move around .... silly little dude. T.J.'s photo is at the end of this blog.
So, this week's word is . . .

  1. Thanks so much for including me in your tribute collection.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I understand the pain you must be dealing with - I've had my "little one" for 11 years as well, and when that day comes for her it will feel all too soon. Such wonderful companions they are - it's a shame they can't stay with us forever! My thoughts are with you and your "little one".

  3. I'm a new member of POE and a cat lover with cats of my own. So sorry to hear about your cat's illness. I truly understand that our pets become our dear friends and members of our family. I hope you and your "little buddy" will have some good days together.

  4. Hi Sue, thanks so much for including "Toby Catches" in your collection. Times like these are not easy, but they pass. Toby was 13 when we had to say good-by, but even now, 18 years later, he still makes me laugh!

  5. Sue!
I am so sadden by your cats illness and your post has touched me deeply. You see we had to say good-bye to our 18 year old black cat last year. We were so fortunate to have her for as long we did. My thoughts are with you & your family and your dear little companion.

  7. Sue, when I read about pets with illnesses or that have died, my heart breaks. Animals always seem to touch my emotions even more than humans (weird maybe?) but they are truly wonderful creatures. I'm sure your little one has had a wonderful home and has felt loved always. I hope you find the strength to help him through these days. I'm so sorry :(

  10. Oh, he is so beautiful. I am so sorry that he is dying. I have two cats at the moment who are on medications. One is diabetic and needs shots twice a day and one has high blood pressure and Thyroid problems. Two medications a day for that one. I have had one for 16 years and the other for 14 years. They become like children.

  11. What a little bunny, so cute! I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis but medical care for our sweet pets is so good these days I hope your little one can recoup or at least be comfortable and happy for at least another decade. Mine was about 17 or 18. I think the average now is in the 20s. Still, I know it's hard to have a family member feeling ill. Warmest wishes to the both of you.

  12. sue, these cats are tough! i am going through the same thing right now, but my guy has stuck it through for almost a year now...what a trooper he is! mine is on meds, fluids, and prescription diet. I agree, i wish they could tell us how they feel. mine has good weeks and bad weeks, but he's a super cat. i hope T.J. is a super cat as well! best wishes to the both of you!
